Rules and Conduct Policy

Inclement Weather

During inclement weather, such as snow and wind storms, Build to Steam will follow the closure policy of the local school district. We will post an update on our social media the day of if we are closed. If local schools are closed for the day we will be too. If the schools are on a delayed start we recommend you only travel to our classroom if you feel comfortable.

Be sure to follow us on our social media for updates on closures.

Holiday Hours

Our classrooms will be closed for the following holidays and events in 2026-2027

  • Summer Break: August 10th- September 1st

  • BrickCon: September 9th-12th

  • Thanksgiving: November 24th-Dec 1st

  • Winter Holidays: December 22nd- January 4th (2026-2027)

Tardiness

Open Lab Hours begin when the student arrives and their time slot will end exactly one hour after. All other programs will begin on their posted time. If a student is late there is a chance they will not be able to stay late to finish their work. If parents are more then 15 mins late picking up their child we will charge them for an additional hour ($49)

Privacy and Media Protection

Build to STEAM maintains strict privacy and media practices to protect all minors participating in our programs. We do not publish or use photographs or video recordings of children without explicit parent or guardian consent. For public events where media may be captured, we employ AI-based face‑replacement tools to ensure that any minors appearing in photos or videos are not identifiable. These measures reflect our commitment to safeguarding children’s privacy while still sharing the educational work we do with the community.

Conduct Policy

Build to STEAM is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and safe environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential. We believe a positive atmosphere is essential for effective learning and personal growth.

The Conduct Policy for our program is designed to maintain a positive and respectful learning environment for all participants. If a student displays disruptive behavior the program staff will promptly notify the student's parents or guardians. This initial step aims to address the issue collaboratively and provide an opportunity for corrective action.

Should the student’s behavior not improve and a second incident occur, the student will be suspended for the next session. On a third incident they will be expelled from the program. In such cases, any remaining classes will be refunded to the family. This policy is implemented to ensure a safe and productive environment for everyone involved and to underscore the importance of respectful conduct within our program.

Disruptive Behavior Includes but not Limited to
  • Stealing, Destroying, or Vandalizing Property

  • Bullying Other Students

  • Violent Behavior

  • Theft

  • Bringing in weapons

  • Consuming Banned Substances in the Classroom

    • Including Alcohol, Tobacco, Marijuana, and other controlled substances.
